Good Vibrations Celebrates 'Sexy at Every Size' With Abundance Event

SAN FRANCISCO — Sex-positive retailer Good Vibrations celebrated body positivity with its recent event, “Abundance: A Sensual Exploration of Plus-Size Pleasure."

The Sexy at Every Size campaign was developed to promote body positivity, and “Abundance” converted that message into a celebratory event at Good Vibrations’ Kearny St. lifestyle boutique on Oct. 17.

The event premiered new lines of plus-sized lingerie and strap-on harnesses, and included personalized fittings and product consultations by SpareParts, Coquette, Oh La La Cheri and Sportsheets.??

“I was thrilled to have the support of so many of our vendors for this popular event,” said Coyote Days, purchasing manager for Good Vibrations. “We have long sold items in a range of sizes but actually being able to showcase lingerie up to 4X and harnesses that fit up to 5X was revolutionary.”

Virgie Tovar, author and fat activist, facilitated the merriment as the emcee of the evening, interviewing staff experts and guests. Tovar also promoted the in-store drawing with prizes donated by Dreamgirl, Lelo, Perseus Books, Wicked Pictures and more.

Good vibrations launched #SexyAtEverySize as a social media campaign on Twitter and Instagram to more widely celebrate body positivity as a fundamental of sex positivity.

“You cannot fully embrace positive sexuality without being able to celebrate our bodies as they are.” Said Andy Duran, Good Vibrations educational outreach and affiliate manager.

That message was captured at Abundance with the #SexyAtEverySize truths station, where guests were invited to share their messages of what body positive sexuality means to them.

“Part of Good Vibrations’ #SexyAtEverySize campaign is to emphasize that all body types are worthy of feeling sexy and admired,” added Duran.

Good Vibrations plans to continue the campaign as “an ongoing value to their already prestigious mission,” a store rep explained. Those interested in joining in on the conversation can follow the hashtag #SexyAtEverySize on Twitter. The retailer also hinted that the event will likely be coming soon to its other locations.
